Motor controls, contactors & relays

Motor Controls

image6

We have starters in sizes 00 to 5 in most domestic manufactures like Square D, Allen Bradley, Cutler Hammer, Westinghouse, ITE, Furnas and more; with the common coil voltages of 24vac to 480v. Foreign made starters not so much.

Contactors

image7

Contactors have a wide range of general and specific use. Our stock has many common types in various coil voltages ranging from 24vac to 480vac; additionally we do have some VDC coil contactors as well. FLA availability is use dependent.

Relays

image8

Like contactors, relays are as the name implies; relaying voltage and current to a load controlled by automation or manual operations. This type of contactor has few replaceable parts, though larger units have component levels parts available.

Thermal Overload Protection

image9

Thermal Overload units for the same listed manufactures above are available in both heater specific and solid state versions up to and including size 4 units. Above that, CT’s are used to ratio down high loads, we also have many available.

Part Replacements

image10

Component level part replacements are manufacture contactor specific. In some cases because of the contactors size or purpose may not have replacement parts. We have extensive parts for most domestic manufactured units.

Mini-relays or Ice Cube Relays

image11

We are not normally known to have this, but we do and lots of them. Flat and round pin units have 5 to 14 pins; with coil voltages ranging from 12VDC to 480VAC. Also timing, off-delay, on-delay and programmable units are in stock as well.

Additional Information

We have starters in sizes 00 to 5 in most domestic manufactures like Square D, Allen Bradley, Cutler Hammer, Westinghouse, ITE, Furnas and more. Foreign made starters not so much; Telemechanique units are a hit miss in our inventory. For many brands we have the supporting parts like starter contact kits, heaters, coils, auxiliary contact blocks, enclosures, and much more. Keep in mind our inventory is primarily the surplus stock, field tested units; each are thoroughly gone over for operational readiness and no contactor is sold without at least 90%+ contact surface left. It is a great deal if you wish to save money. Out of state shipping is limited to Size 3 whole starters and below. However, all supporting parts are available for shipping.

Contactors

Additional Information

Our contactors without thermal protection or definite purpose contactor stock consist of 1 pole to 4 poles, 24vac to 240vac coils with some 480v to 600v options. Contact Amperages or FLA (full load amps) range from 20A to 100A. They normally have a N.O. (normally open) state; the N.C. (normally closed) state may be obtained as a special order.

These contactors are not stocked with auxiliary contact block options; if you need this option; it would be an additional cost. Make sure to point out this option if needed to our sales staff as required.

Relays

Control Relays

image14

Coil voltages range from 24vac to 480vac, some VDC units are in stock. As the name implies, they typically control power to the load via manual or automated means. Contact sizes are generally limited to 20A demand or less, and listed as SPST to 4PDT descriptions; example: SPST single pole, single throw or state “On or Off”.

Lighting Relays

image15

Lighting relays have the same coil voltage range as contactors with one exception INT “Intermittent” active, meaning these types require a pulse only to activate and are normally found in latching units. They can be in 2 to 12 poles large, mechanically latched or electrically held. Enclosures are available for some domestic manufactured units.

Definate Purpose Relays

image16

Definite purpose contactors we stock have a good coil and FLA amperage ranges available. The more common coil voltages 24vac to 480vac, and current range 20 to 200 amps; with number of phases: single to triple phase operations. Enclosures are available in indoor and outdoor applications for domestic brands only.

Low Voltage Relays

image17

Low voltage relays primarily concern residential and commercial lighting systems. Using a wall switch (1, 2 & 3 switch pack), to activate a 24 to 28vdc relay; powered by a system transformer; passing the 120v power to the actual light. It is getting harder and harder to find people who have worked on them, and parts to support them.

That’s why we’re here.

Reversing Relays

image18

Reversing Contactors and Starters are available in sizes 00 to size 3 for most domestic brands. This group of contactors and starters are used to phase reverse direction; up to down, and back and forth. They are mfg specific, so no other mfg unit can be used as a replacement part. We have parts support for most domestic brands.

Ice Cube Relays

image19

This group of relays are generally restricted to low amperage <10 or less applications to control or indicate circuit conditions. We have a wide range or pin configurations including the bases required to mount them. Coil voltages in stock range from 12vdc to 480vac. Some of these relays are task specific like On-Delay, Off-Delay, Timers and more. We have a good selection of them available.
